FAQs
When should I consider removing a tree?
Having a tree removed is a big decisision and can be quite expensive. Some warning signs to look out for are fungus growing on the tree, cavities in the stalk and large branches, cracks in the trunk or roots, excessive and/or progressive leaning, storm damage, dead branches and peeling bark. Dead trees should also be immediately removed.
When is the best time to trim my trees?
It is safe to remove dead, damaged, or diseased branches throughout the year. Some trees will do better if trimmed during the cooler months to prevent infection. For example: Oak trees especially should not be injured during warmer months. They are susceptible to oak wilt. Oak Wilt is caused by the fungus, Bretziella fagacearum. The fungus colonizes the tree’s water conducting system, causing the tree to wilt and die.
How long will my dead tree remain standing?
Unfortunately, there is no way to predict when your dead tree will fall or even where it will fall. It is recommended to remove dead trees immediately.
Should I remove trees close to my home?
Trees should be at least 20 feet away from your home. Any tree that is a threat to your property should be removed or maintained immediately. This could include complete removal of the tree(s), trimming/pruning, or even cabling.
Do dead branches indicate that my tree is dying?
Not always. It is quite normal for large trees to have branches that die. Sometimes they just need to have dead limbs removed and they’ll be fine. If there are multiple large dead branches throughout the tree, this could be an indicator that the tree is dying and/or infected.
Can trees cause damage to my homes foundation?
Yes. Trees can cause major damage to a homes foundation. The root system can ruin the foundation, walls, patio, driveway and sidewalks. It is very important that trees are a safe distance away from any of these structures.
Who is responsible for a tree when it falls?
Believe it or not, that typically depends on where the tree lands. You heard that right! If your neighbors monster oak tree lands in your living room, it will likely be claimed on your homeowners insurance policy.
Do tree roots continue to grow after the stump has been grinded?
Tree roots may continue to grow for a short period of time after the stump has been grinded. The left over roots will eventually die and decompose.
Does Tree Removal include Stump Grinding?
No. We do not include stump grinding in the cost of tree removal. Stump grinding is a separate service and we treat it as such. Not everyone who wishes to have a tree removed wants the additional expense of the stump grinding service. To better accommodate our customers, we separate the two services and only quote stump grinding at their request.
Do you haul away all of the debris?
Yes. Hauling all debris is included with both the tree timming and removal services. When we trim or remove a tree on your property we haul away all logs, branches, sticks, leaves and even most of the saw dust. When we leave a property it is not uncommon for it to be cleaner than when we arrived. We see the value in finishing strong and delivering the best service possible to every customer.
